Platinum ticket holder Chima Udoye on Sunday won this year’s season 9 of the Nigerian Idol music reality TV show.
He went home with a brand new SUV, DStv Explora, and a one-year premium subscription as well as a cash prize of N30 million.
A recording contract and song video are also included in the package.
The highlight was a truly serious event.

The ten contestants gave a stellar performance of John Legendβs βGloryβ to open the show, while Progress and Victory Gbakara, two previous Nigerian Idol winners, made brief appearances.
Chike and Simi wowed the audience as the top three singers took the stage for their final performances.
Everyone was waiting for the news with bated breath.
Finally, the host, Ik Osakidouwa, announced Chima as the winner!
Chief Executive of Content & Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice, Dr. Busola Tejumola, commended Chima for winning the contest.
