Chran Lauds DSS to prevent mass kidnapping in Akwa Ibom Dur …

An organization of civil society, Civil and Human Rights Accountability Network (Chran), praised the Department of the State Service (DSS) for preventing important kidnappings in Akwa Ibom during the Eid El-Kabir holidays.

According to credible security sources, DSS destroyed a gang of maritime pirate linked to the kidnapping of two Chinese citizens of November 2024 and a member of the Nigerian staff of Marksino Cava a cross river State.

During that attack, the kidnappers fired a police inspector attached to the workers and transported his AK-47 rifle away.

The director of the State of Chran, Otuekong Franklyn Isong, described the arrest of DSS as a turning point in the repression of criminals who terrorize his state and the south-south area.
