Chris Brown in the UK court courts


The American singer R&B Chris Brown should appear in a United Kingdom court on Friday 16 May 2025, after being arrested and accused of an alleged assault in a London night club in 2023.

Brown, 36, is known for the successes of the mid -2000s such as “Kiss, Kiss” and a litany of legal problems including a crime sentence for having attacked her ex -girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009.

The famous singer was arrested again in the early hours of Thursday in a Manchester hotel, said the Metropolitan Police.

The singer, who has faced criminal accusations including sexual aggressions and domestic violence, remains in custody and will appear in court in the north -western city at 10:00 (0900 GMT) on Friday, said the metropolitan police in a note.

Brown was accused of “serious physical damage with intent” in relation to “an assault, which according to what was reported in a Hanover Square headquarters in London” on February 19, 2023.

Brown would have attacked the music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle at the night club in the exclusive Mayfair district of London.

The singer, who began his career in the 2000s and sold tens of millions of records all over the world, at the time he was on tour in the United Kingdom.

According to reports, Brown flew to Manchester airport with private jet on Wednesday afternoon.

He will have to undertake a world tour next month, including different dates scheduled in the United Kingdom in June and July.

The police arrested Brown at the Lowry five -star hotel in Manchester on Thursday, reported AFP.

The twice winner of the Grammy became famous at a young age with his rich R&B voice and the following rap, but his reputation was subsequently obscured by accusations of domestic violence and other abuses.

He was sentenced for beating Rihanna before the 2009 Grammy Awards, forcing the pop star to lose the annual gala.

In 2012, Brown was involved in an altercation in a New York disco with the members of the Hip Hop Drake’s star Entourage star, during which the French basketball star Tony Parker suffered an eye injury after being hit by a launched glass bottle.

Two years later, he stated guilty that he had attacked a fan in Washington.

Brown, who climbed from a choir of the local church in Virginia to sudden fame, was arrested in 2016 after a woman said she had a gun.

At the beginning of that year, another woman accused him of battery in Las Vegas.

Previously he had also been accused of raping a woman in a luxurious Paris hotel. He denied the complaint and was not accused.
