Chukwueze struggles to adapt to Serie A, says AC Milan boss

AC Milan coach Paulo Fonseca has revealed that Samuel Chukwueze is having difficulty adapting to the demands of Serie A.

Fonseca cited a lack of confidence and challenges in decision-making as key factors behind his difficulties.

Chukwueze, who joined the club from Villarreal last year, is yet to make a significant impact since his arrival.

Despite a promising pre-season in which he scored against Real Madrid and assisted twice in a match against Manchester City, the 25-year-old has struggled to maintain that form in the regular season.

He has lost his place in the starting eleven and has not scored any goals or assists in the current campaign.

β€œChukwueze had a very good preseason; I think he just needs to gain confidence in the context of Serie A, where you don’t have time or space to think and you have to make the right decisions quickly,” Fonseca said in an interview on the club’s official website.

Samuel Chukwueze has appeared in five league games this season, starting the first two, but is yet to make a significant contribution on the field.
