Kwara United’s chief coach, Tunde Sanni, has expressed a deep disappointment after the 4-2 defeat of his team against Sunshine Stars at his NPFL Matchday 27 meeting at the Stadium Remo Stadium in Ikenne.

The game began with a promising note for the Harmony Boys, despite granting an early goal in the 11th minute through Liman Ahmad.

Kwara United responded strongly, with Issa Gatta leveling in the 23rd minute before Wasiu Alalade put them forward in the 27th minute. However, a defensive period led to an unfortunate goal by Saheed Olaniyi, allowing the stars of the sun to match and change the impulse.

The coach admitted that granting just before part time, when Liman Ahmad hit again to give the hosts a 3-2 advantage, was a great psychological blow to his players. Things worsened only two minutes in the second half when Ahmad completed his hat-trick, extending Sunshine Stars’s advantage to 4-2.

Despite making tactical substitutions, the installation of Nurudeen Badmus, Sadeeq Yusuf and Omotayo Yusuf in an effort to rescue the game, the Sanni team fought to recover control.

Speaking after the game, the coach recognized the team’s effort but exceeded his defensive failures.

“This is a disappointing result for us,” said Sanni. “We had the game in our hands at some point, but we made expensive mistakes that changed the course of the game. We need to learn from this and improve quickly because each point matters at this stage of the season. “

Kwara United will now focus on recovering in her next match, since Tunde Sanni and her team seek to address their weaknesses and revive their NPFL campaign.
