COF CAPE, NFF for a bad launch condition against South Africa: FIFA has the Super Eagles players

The FIFA World Soccer Governing Agency says that they should not be blamed for the poor nature of the game surface organized by the World Cup classifying game between South Africa and Nigeria in Bloemfontein, reports Owngoalnigeria.com.

The Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein is well known for organizing rugby games than football, but nevertheless, FIFA obtained the approval of the World Cup qualifying games as a native land for Lesotho and also South Africa.

Two players of the Nigerian team in Ola Aina and Wilfred Ndidi collected injuries in the 1-1 draw against South Africa and now they will spend some time apart. The players were furious with the status of the field before, during and after the game.

In reaction to his anger, Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana spoke with a FIFA representative, who said he approved the field after CAF sent a report saying that it is fine organizing games. However, they would probably have revoked CAF’s decision if there was a protest over the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

“Us, [as FIFA] I have no capacity to verify all stadiums for all World Cup qualifiers. We trust the confederations (in this case CAF) to do so, because they organize the World Cup qualifiers within the region. If they did not do the job correctly, what could happen, in this specific case, then NFF can file a complaint and then we see, ”said FIFA spokesman to Osasu.

Unfortunately, the NFF did not send an advanced team to see the status of the stadium, when it was approved for the game, and Aina, which is now out of three months, lashed out at NFF Ibrahim Musua president in the half -weather break, accusing him of endangering them by allowing the game to play on such a horrible surface.
