“A promising area is the development of public transport systems that use sustainable energy sources and in the production of consumer products.

“Perhaps, the most concrete event of long -standing relationships between the two countries is our people. The Filipinos have been in Nigeria since its independence.

“Currently, we have about 4,000 Filipinos here who are engaged in various production capacity, oil and gas, hotels, restaurants and hospitality, education, medical services, among others.

“There are many who are married to the Nigerians. I would like to thank Nigeria for his welcoming and friendly attitude towards our citizens.

“Maybe not surprisingly, I read a few days ago that Nigeria is the most friendly country in the world for foreigners,” he said.

He observed that the Philippines host an even greater number of Nigerian citizens, which is about 10,000, most of which studies in various higher education institutes.

The correspondent said that the Nigerians were becoming popular in the Philippines in the areas of sport and entertainment in the same way that the soap opera Filipinos found a fan base in Nigeria.
