Commitment with the Minister of Information – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

Recently, the minister of information and national orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has held an interactive session with social media bloggers and influencers from northern Nigeria. The purpose of the meeting was to encourage direct communication and build a collaborative approach to report positively on Nigeria and its government.

The minister praised the role of bloggers and influencers in disseminating news and information, underlining their importance for national development. He urged them to refrain from disseminating false news or content that throw the country into a negative light.

This commitment marked a significant milestone, since it was the first time that a high -ranking government official has kept such an open and straightforward discussion with this group, facing questions and offering clarifications in real time.

Idris clarified that the intention was not to censor the voices of digital media, but rather to encourage a balanced and factual report of the progress and results of the government. He underlined the need to avoid sharing un verified or misleading information with the public.

The session was productive, inclusive and engaging. The minister proved to be accessible, directed and engaged in his role as an official leader of the government in charge of promoting and safeguarding the image of the nation.
