West Brom Manager, Carlos Corberán expressed satisfaction with Semi Ajayi’s performance during the international break with Nigeria.

Corberán stated that Ajayi returned to the club in improved form compared to when he departed, highlighting the positive impact of the player’s contributions in the matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe while representing Nigeria.

The CB, who previously struggled with a recurring ankle injury, demonstrated resilience and prowess on the international stage.

Ajayi’s return to West Brom after featuring in the national team’s fixtures has now injected optimism into the squad, especially considering his absence from the starting lineup in the Baggies’ last eight Championship games.

“Every scenario is different in terms of the players we have had away on international duty,” he told the Club’s official website.

“Semi Ajayi played 90 minutes in both of his games for Nigeria which is a real positive, especially when he hasn’t been playing for most of the minutes with our team.

“He’s has the possibility to play and he has recovered well.”
