The Court of Appeal, Abuja, on Friday quashed an order barring former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, and two others from attending the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.

Other party leaders affected are the sacked Rivers State Governor, Celestine Omehia and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara.

Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on April 5 barred the three PDP chairmanships from attending any meeting of the party’s NEC or participating in any deliberations concerning the party in any manner.

In three separate rulings, a three-member panel of the appeals court upheld the three men’s appeals on grounds of merit.

The appeals court ruled that the lower court should not have heard the case because it lacked jurisdiction to hear a lawsuit that dealt with internal party affairs.

Furthermore, the court declared null and void the proceedings carried out in three cases in lower courts.
