The independent corrupt practices and other related crimes (ICPC) accused a Mrs. Moses Oluwafun Milayo Esther for presumably foruming her letter of recording and illegally manipulating the integrated personnel and the system of information on wages (iPPi) to receive salaries during the suspensions.

Mrs. Esther was accused before the judge Yusuf Halilu of the high court of the territory of the federal capital (FCT) on Monday on a three counts presented by the ICPC.

According to the Commission, the defendant would have falsified a recording letter dated 20 January 1998, with reference no. HCSF/CMO/EMD/AOD/013/1/30, presumably issued by the Federation’s civil service office.

ICPC investigations have also revealed that the publication education, the Gazzetta, the appointment letter and the confirmation letter presented by Mrs. Esther, which held the position of the main administrative officer at the Federal Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and the management of catastrophes, were all falsified.

The verification of the Federal Civil Service Commission confirmed that these records existed in its database.

Furthermore, according to reports, the defendant did not honor an invitation from a committee established by the head of the service to investigate the alleged false post. This failure led to the suspension of his salary in November 2021, pending the outcome of the investigation.

However, it was subsequently discovered that Mrs. Esther, who had access as a role player on the Ippis platform, illegally restored her salary in January 2022 without obtaining approval from the office of the head of the Federation of the Federation.

When the accusations were read, the accused declared “not guilty”.

His councilor, Mr. Chima Okason, asked the Court to grant his deposit to liberal conditions.

The application was not contrasted by the ICPC consultant, Mrs. Olubunmi Ayo.

The Mr Judge Halilu granted the deposit in the following conditions: the defendant must produce two credible surety, each of which must be director of the Federal Civil Service and currently serving in any parastatal within the FCT.

The surety must present evidence of their first and most recent promotions, which will be verified by the Chancellor of the Court.

They must also provide a written company which, in the event of rescue of the accused, will be postponed to custody in his place.

The judge presides subsequently postponed the proceedings until 8 July 2025, for the start of the trial.
