Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, ordered the management of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) to release the medical certificate of detained Binnace Holdings Limited executive, Tigran Gambaryan, by July 16.
The judge granted the order following a request from Gambaryan’s lawyer, Mark Mordi (SAN).
Mordi has appealed to the court to summon the Medical Doctor at the Kuje Correctional Centre health facility, Dr. Abraham Ehizojie, to explain why he refused to provide his clientβs medical report despite an earlier court order.
The legal counselβs application came shortly after the legal counsel for the Economic and Financial Crimes Eradication Commission (KPK), Ekele Iheanacho, presented a second prosecution witness as evidence in the ongoing trial of Binance and Gambaryan for alleged money laundering.

Ekele, who allayed Mordi’s fears, said the correctional centre has qualified medical personnel and facilities to treat Gambaryan.
Judge Nwite, who ordered that a medical report on Gambaryan’s health condition be made available on the next adjourned date, set July 16 for the trial to resume.
βIf the medical certificate is not provided on or before the next postponement date, the doctor in charge of the facility will appear in court on July 16 to explain why the medical report was not provided,β he said.
Gambaryan on May 23 fainted in open court on charges of illness.
