The senior of Nigeria Women’s Cricket, the female yellow green, arrived in Rwanda, before the 11th edition of the Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament, scheduled for June 3 to 14.
The team landed in Rwanda on Sunday, seeking to take advantage of their previous experience in a tournament.
Honoring history through sport
The tournament is celebrated annually in honor of the victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, where more than 800,000 people were killed in one of the worst atrocities of the twentieth century.
“Kwibuka” means “remembering” in Kinyarwanda, and the tournament uses the sport platform to promote peace, unity and memory.
This year’s edition presents nine teams, including Nigeria, host Randanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Brazil, among others.
All teams will compete in a Round-Robin format, with the best sides advancing to the qualifying stages.
Accessories: Great early test against Uganda
Nigeria will begin his campaign on Tuesday, June 3, with a first game against the queen champions Uganda.
Then they will face Brazil on Wednesday, June 4.
The complete accessory of the tournament will make Nigeria face each of the other eight teams in the Redondo phase, with the best teams that move forward to the semifinals and the final.

This is the sixth appearance of Nigeria in the tournament.
Although they have not yet won the title, female yellow vegetables have made constant progress in recent years and aim to improve their last performance.
The 2025 edition offers a crucial opportunity for the team to take advantage of the success of its U-19 counterparts, integrate a new talent in senior configuration and prepare for future CPI qualification events.
Nigeria Squad: Youth and Experience Mix for Kigali Challenge
The Nigerian Cricket Federation (NCF) presented a team of 14 players for the tournament on Saturday.
Leading the team is favor thatigbe, the captain of the Gold winning team of the state of Edo at the National Sports Festival.
It also returns to the Rukayat Abdulrasaq squad.
Two rising stars of the U20 Women’s Cup U20 World Cup by Nigeria (Amusa Kehinde and Omosigcho Eguakun) received their debut in the senior team, after their impressive performances earlier this year in Malaysia, where Nigeria finished sixth in general, making the story of the first Western African team competed in the event.
