The Democratic People’s Party (PDP) at the Cross River State has reiterated the legitimacy of the Congress that has just been held in the state.
He reacted to the comments credited to the Secretary of the PDP National Publicity, Debo Oologunagba, at the congress.
Oilunagba in a new conference in Abuja on Monday, rejected the claim that the State Congress was held at Cross River.
He described any exercise as a ‘hallucination “and insisted that the process was officially postponed by the National Work Committee (NWC).
The spokesman warned that the members behind the recognized meeting would face disciplined steps.
However, the secretary of the party publicity in the state, Mr. Mike Ojisi, said in a statement issued in Calabar on Wednesday that the congress conducted on September 27 was permitted, monitored, and attended by all leaders and party structures throughout the state.

The Ojisi said the exercise was overseen by a panel formed by the party and monitored by the relevant authorities, including the Independent National Election Commission (Inec), Police, and the Nigerian Civil and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).
“The congress was monitored by all the predetermined authorities, including the Inec observer team, which was capable of being led by the Commissioner of the Resident Election itself, the police, and civilian defense,” he said.
He questioned the legitimacy of a recognized NWC meeting who claimed to have decided on the congress.
“The recognized social media chat between five NWC members cannot form the National Work Committee, talking more about making fundamental decisions like that,” Ojisi said.
He challenged the party’s national leadership to reveal the place, date, and memorandum approved from such a meeting.
