Cubana Grand Imam to use social media to promote fight against naira abuse, EFCC reveals other conditions

This was revealed on Tuesday, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) while speaking on the judgment of Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos regarding the terms of settlement of three charges bordering on misappropriation of the Naira. preferred record compared to the Cuban High Priest) by the EFCC.

Additionally, the Cuban Grand Imam will henceforth lead a strict and intensive sensitization or campaign against the misuse of coins and banknotes issued under the CBN Law of the Central Bank of Nigeria.”

The court also ruled that, “the accused must post every two months on his various social media containing a minimum of two video clips on sensitization/campaign against naira misuse and various offences”.

All this was a strict precaution intended to separate the Cubana High Priest from future desecration of the Naira.

Oyewale warned that “the Special Task Force against Naira Abuse and Dollarization of the economy is still in place. The Commission remains undeterred in the exercise of its legitimate mandate and the court’s decision against the Cuban Grand Imam should stimulate increased commitment of Nigerians to defend the sanctity of the Naira and refrain from any violation of the country’s legal tender.”

Meanwhile, the Chief Imam of Cubana is filled with joy after a court dismissed charges against him for alleged misuse of naira.

Cubana was first charged by the EFCC on April 17 on three counts of allegedly spraying and damaging Naira notes during a social event at the Eko Hotel in Lagos.

During his initial arraignment, he pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail of N10 million.

On the last adjourned date on May 2, Cubaba’s counsel, Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN), had informed the court that both parties were exploring a settlement and had submitted an application for the matter to be resolved in accordance with the provisions of section 14(2) of the court. EFCC Act.

In accordance with his stance, he filed an application to withdraw the initial objection raised by the defense, and since there was no objection from the prosecution, the court granted the same.

Therefore, the court adjourned the case to June 25 for a final hearing on the settlement.

In the ruling dismissing the case, Judge Ogundare said:

“Under the agreement of the prosecution and defense under the EFCC Foundation Act, an agreement has been submitted to the court, hence this charge is dropped as the accused is hereby warned,” he said.

Following the ruling, Cubana took to her Instagram page to thank God that her case had been dismissed.
