As part of his commitment to strengthen the local content and commitment of the community, Dangote Cement Plc., Ibese Plant, has held his annual training for the development of the capacity of 2025 for the representatives of his host communities.

“Involvement and support skills: critical tools for the representatives of the community”, the workshop has brought together a wide representation of the stakeholders groups of the host communities and local governments of Yewe North and Ewekoro, reflecting the inclusive approach of the plant to the commitment and development of the community.

Declaring the open workshop, Mr. Aina Olugbenga, Head, Human Asset Management and Administration, praised the representatives of the community for their dedication and the altruistic service that has paved the way for peace that you can enjoy from all the parties concerned in the area.

It encouraged them to use the skills and other key learning acquired by the seminary not only for the benefit of the communities they represented, but also to encourage mutual growth between them and the plant

In her observations, Mrs. Ololade Akiyode, director of community development, the local government of Yewe North, invited the participants to continue to adopt collaborative dialogues and approach in relation to the company.

He described the relationship between the Ibese plant and its host communities/local governments as “a model of sustainable development led by an effective commitment, understanding and collaboration”.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hon. Dayo Ogunyinka expressed appreciation for the company for the organization of the seminar. He reaffirmed the commitment of the community representatives to a continuous, efficient and altruistic representation that supports the well -being of both communities and the plant.

It would remember that the Ibese plant of Dangote Cement manages training programs and responsibility for skills for young people and other population segments in its host communities.

These programs aim to accelerate social and economic development by providing skills training in areas such as domestic electrical installation, catering, tailoring and more, with the aim of reducing unemployment, improving life standards and promoting self -sufficiency.

The key aspects of the programs include the acquisition of skills, which focuses on the supply of practical training to improve employability and entrepreneurial potential; Economic Empowerment, in which internships receive start kits with tools and equipment to help them establish their activities after completing the program and development of the community, which aims to improve the overall socio-economic conditions of the host communities by reducing unemployment and poverty.

Others are programs that focus on sustainable development and align with the United Nations sustainable development objectives, in particular those related to the eradication of poverty, hunger zero and to sustainable cities and communities.

In addition to the formation of skills, Dangote Cement provides scholarships to brilliant and indigent students of the host communities. It invests in training to improve the ability of the leaders of the community and representatives for the resolution of conflicts and equip the community residents to reduce unemployment between young people and improve the general living tenor in the host communities.
