British heavyweight Daniel Dubois has confirmed he will return to the ring later this year after suffering a knockout defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, signaling his determination to bounce back and rebuild his career.
The 27-year-old, who lost to Usyk in the world title fight, revealed that his team has completed the requirements for their next fight—an important step in his quest for redemption.
Dubois, who was stopped in the ninth round by the Ukrainian world champion, said he used the loss as motivation to come back stronger. “The defeat hurts, but it doesn’t destroy me,” he told reporters. “I’ve learned from this. Every great fighter gets knocked down and gets back up—that’s what I do. I’m hungrier than ever and ready to show people that I’m among the best.”

While details regarding his next opponent are expected to be announced soon, sources close to Dubois’ camp say the fight will be a comeback event, most likely against a top-15 contender.
His promoter, Frank Warren, hinted that a strong performance could put Dubois back in line for another world title shot in 2026. “Daniel is still one of the strongest fighters in the heavyweight division,” Warren said. “He is young, motivated and determined to prove that he is far from finished.”
Dubois’ return comes amid a highly competitive heavyweight rivalry, with stars such as Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Usyk dominating global headlines. But for Dubois, the goal is clear—to silence critics, regain momentum, and remind the boxing world that setbacks are simply preparation for an even greater comeback.
