David Mark denounces the attacks on benue from armed shepherds


[Press Release] The former president of the Senate, Senator David Mark, denounced attacks on various communities in the state of Benue from suspicious armed shepherds.

The attacks had led to the destruction of lives and ownership of the value of billions of Naira in recent weeks in Otukpo, Agatu, APA, Ohimini, Okpokwu, Ado, Ogbadiba, Gwer-West, Gw-East, Katsina-Ala, logo and areas of the local Ukum government by Benue State.

A few weeks ago, people were killed in Gwer-West, leading to the protest of young people in the area.

Just last week, so many people were killed and others were kidnapped in the Otukpo axis.

A worried senator, however, observed that “it is moving that some of the beasts involved in the dark acts have been arrested by the safety agents.

“Underlying all interested parties to make a diligent investigation and ensure that all the people involved immediately and remotely should be made to face the entire anger of the law.

“I also ask the young people of our various communities to guarantee supervision and report any suspicious behavior of people and their movements to the police to prevent recovery.”

In doing this, Senator Mark warned: “There should be no stereotypes of any ethnic group or retaliation attacks on any group of people due to these unfortunate accidents.

“I commissioned with those who have lost their loved ones at the hands of the predons. They can rest in peace.”
