Davido joined the Grammy Voting Academy ahead of 2026 awards

Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke alias Davido has been appointed as a member of the recording academy voter, the body behind the Grammy Awards, ahead of the 2026 edition of a prestigious event.

This development marks another major milestone in Davido’s famous career, strengthening his role not only as a player but as an influential voice in shaping the future of global music.

As a member of the voting, the talented Afrobeats assassin will now participate in the process of nomination and selection that determines who brings the biggest award of music at home.

On Tuesday, September 23, the recording academy posted Davido’s Instagram image with other members who had just been received, confirmed his confession.

“Making songs or albums take hearts, time, and dedication. That is why members of the academy members, including #Davido … share why your participation is important,” the academy wrote.

Davido, which was nominated for three grams in 2024, will now be able to affect the nomination and final ballot phase of the award process. The singer called the milestone as “game changers” in response.

“Understanding the importance of how our votes were heard, I participated in the Grammy award process. Voting empowered you to have a voice in what was considered and chosen in every season. I am honored to be part of the recording academy community, and I hope to vote,” he said.
