Dr. Dayo Israel, APC National Youth Leader, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his swift and strategic response to sports development in Nigeria, describing it as a bold step towards youth empowerment and national growth.
He noted that the President’s prompt fulfillment of his promise to reward athletes is both heartwarming and highly commendable.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a leader who matches words with decisive actions. A true father figure who places top priority on young Nigerians, constantly demonstrating through tangible results that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a promise, but a living reality,” he said.
Israel also praised the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC) for its forward-thinking initiatives, particularly the structured athlete reward system and the youth recognition tour.
According to him, these efforts reflect a renewed commitment to recognize excellence, motivate young talents and strengthen the country’s sports ecosystem. He highlighted that sport, along with education, continues to be a fundamental pillar for national development.
“Sport is much more than a recreational activity. It is a powerful instrument for youth participation, economic advancement and national cohesion. When harnessed strategically, it has the capacity to transform lives and drive sustainable development across the country.
I must especially congratulate my brothers Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the NSC, and Bukola Olopade, Director General, for the exceptional work they continue to do tirelessly in training and empowering Nigerian youths,” concluded the APC National Youth Leader.
Israel further noted that synergy between government support and institutional leadership is essential in repositioning Nigerian sports for global competitiveness, while creating opportunities for young Nigerians to thrive.
