Deadline day: Werder Bremen Push for Victor Boniface Mudge

Bayer Leverkusen is looking to move Victor Boniface in the last hours of the transfer window.

Werder Bremen has shown interest in the Nigerian striker, opening conversations with Bayer Leverkusen and the player’s representatives.

It is not clear if the agreement will be made, but Bremen is making an effort to ensure his signature.

Werder Bremen wants to bring Boniface on loan, since they remain short in the attack, with only Marco Grüll and Justin Njinmah operating as the central striker.

The club feels the need to add a new striker, especially after a difficult season.

Bremen has not been able to win any of his matches so far, after having been eliminated from DFB-Pokal, he lost his opening accessory of the Bundesliga 4-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt, and played a 3-3 draw this weekend.

Boniface was close to leaving Leverkusen earlier this summer, with AC Milan reaching an agreement for transfer.

However, the agreement collapsed after the Italian club medical team, according to the reports, advised against him.

The striker has not yet presented for Bayer Leverkusen this season and was also removed from the last Super Eagles team of Eric Chelle.

If he moved to Bremen, he could provide Bonifacio for the opportunity to revive his career.
