Dele-Bashiru returns to Lazio Action after the exclusion of Super Eagles Squad

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru made his return to coincide with the action for Lazio, who managed to ensure a quarter-final position despite a 1-1 dead point in Viktoria Plzen in the return.

The Nigerian midfielder made his seventh appearance in the UEFA Europa League for Lazio, arriving as a substitute for Pedro Rodríguez in the 79th minute.

DelE-Bashiru suffered an ankle injury earlier this year on February 22 in a goalless draw against Venezia.

Despite making the provisional team of 39 men of Super Eagles for the World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, it was excluded from the final team of 23 men.

Lazio’s coach, Marco Baroni, explained at a press conference that the Nigerian was still dealing with the discomfort of the ankle and returned to physical aptitude.

The Nigerian international who is borrowed from the Turkish Club Hathayspor, has appeared in 24 games (1230 minutes) for Lazio, scoring five goals and attending twice.
