There is a long list of demands in the tray of new whales, starting from the position of women in the church to the ongoing struggle against sexual harassment and restoring the papal finances.

Many require a leader who can unite various factions and bring stability in the world that is increasingly unstable.

While the Catholic Church loses members in the traditional European base, it develops rapidly in southern global.

This area has become a new gravitational center for Catholics with major followers in countries such as Brazil, Mexico and the Philippines.

Pope Francis tries to expand representatives by appointing more cardinals from various regions of the world, and new Pope will be expected to continue this.

Finance

The Vatican faces a serious financial crisis.

The budget deficit has tripled since the Francis Pope election and pension funds have a shortage of up to € 2 billion (£ 1.7 billion).
