Despite a court order restricting protesters from #EndBadGovernance protests at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, security agencies on Saturday took action to disperse them from the court-granted protest site.
Officers of the Department of State Security (DSS) and police fired tear gas at protesters gathered at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
Black-clad and masked DSS officers arrived at the stadium in several Toyota Sienna vans, and began firing live ammunition at the protesters.
Earlier, heavily armed police officers stationed at the stadium’s main entrance had fired tear gas canisters at protesters.
This came after police used armoured vehicles and patrols to block the entrances to the stadium to stop protesters from gathering there.

The move came after a court ordered protesters to restrict their movement and gathering at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
However, protests continued across the country, with smaller gatherings reported in Lagos, Benin City and Port Harcourt.
Friday saw similar scenes at the Berger roundabout area of Abuja, where tear gas was also used to disperse protesters.
Demonstrations, although decreasing in number, continue in various parts of Nigeria, as citizens continue to demand change.
