Despite the crisis, the Ondo PDP chairman declared his party a strong opposition

The PDP chairman in the state, Dupe Aisida, stated on Friday that his party, despite the challenges, is a resilient party and will soon bounce back to winning ways across the country.

He also reacted to reports of the dissolution of the state executive committee by the faction’s National Organizing Secretary, Umaru Bature.

Aisida said several pockets of elections held across the country had shown that the PDP was a party that would not die.

Regarding the alleged dissolution of the state executive committee of the party, the party chairman described the statement as illegal.

“The attention of the Ondo State Chapter of the PDP has been drawn to a statement circulating in some quarters claiming that the National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC) has dissolved the Ondo State Executive Committee of the party.

“The State Executive Committee clearly, unequivocally and without ambiguity wishes to state that the Ondo State Executive Committee remains intact, duly constituted and fully operational.

“The publication did not originate from channels properly communicated to the leadership of the party in Ondo State, nor was there any formal notification communicated to the state executive committee through constitutionally recognized party channels,” he said.

According to him, the statement was premature, misleading and capable of causing unnecessary confusion among party members and the general public.

The chairman said the PDP leadership in the state remained committed to unity, stability and continued growth of the party.

He appealed to PDP members in the 18 local government areas of the state to remain calm, focused and steadfast in their loyalty and fealty to the party.

“We also advise the public and media to ignore any interpretation or speculation that could harm the peace and cohesion of the party in the state.

“The Ondo State chapter of the PDP remains united, strong and committed to providing credible leadership and a viable alternative to the good people of Ondo State,” he added.
