The Nigerian defense headquarters, DHQ, on Friday evening confirmed the killing of a refined terrorist, named Amir Abu Fatima, who had a generosity of N100m placed on him.
“The upper fire power of our gallant troops killed Abu Fatima together with his bomb/ied by doing experts,” Dhq said in a press statement on Friday.
The declaration signed by the director of defense media operations, the main general Markus Kangye, has read in part; “The troops of 101 special forces battalion under 19 brigades of the operation of sector 3 Hadin Kai led a special operation of beheading the terrorist leader in the north of Borno from the Axis of Kukawa in the early hours of today, May 30.
“The special forces led a strike of the command in depth in the enclave of terrorists with the only intention of obtaining Amir Abu Fatima, who had a cut of 100 million naira placed on him as a reward for any credible intelligence that will lead to his capture. During the strike operation, there was an intense and fierce battle between the terrorists and our troops.
“The upper firefighting power of our gallant troops killed Abu Fatima together with his bomb/ied by doing experts. The troops also destroyed the field and the creation of materials. Other objects recovered during the operation were AK47 rifles, some magazines loaded with special ammunition of 7.62 mm and other ordinances.
“AFN troops will continue its operations across the country within the scope of the law that give it due to human rights in line with the best global practices in order to safeguard national security, support our allies and maintain regional stability.
“The AFN remains concentrated in our determination to defeat terrorism, the bandits and other criminals in the country in order to guarantee the safety of all the Nigerians.
“The AFN is therefore asking all citizens to carry out their daily activities legitimately without fear of intimidation. We solicize the continuous sharing of credible information with our troops in order to improve our operations. Please ask to disseminate this information to the public in general.”
