Dikko receives D’Atigress ahead of Afrobasket’s final confrontation

The president of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, has praised the female basketball team of Nigeria, D’Atigress, for their resistance and commitment while reserved a place in the final of the Afro -Ket Fiber fiber 2025.

Dikko made the recommendation after the tough semifinal victory of the team over the archirrival Senegal. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to ensure a fifth consecutive continental title when they face Mali in today’s final at the Palais des Sports, Treichville, in Abidjan.

“We are proud of our girls. They have shown courage, resistance and the spirit of the true champions,” Dikko said. “They have proven to be valuable ambassadors of Nigeria, and we are optimistic that they will return home with the trophy.”

The president of the Sports Commission also praised the chief coach Rena Wakama for his leadership and urged the team to maintain its high level of performance in the final shock.

When reaffirming the government’s commitment to sports development, Dikko said that the federal government recognizes the unifying power of sports in Nigeria and will continue to invest in young people through several sports programs.

“The Commission remains committed to supporting all our national teams to ensure that they represent the country with pride and achieve success in the global stage,” he added.
