Armed people on Monday kidnapped the Head of the Ado Bagaji District in the Omala Regional Government Area in the State of Kogi, David Wada.
A spokesman for the State Police Command, Williams Ovye-Waya, confirmed the news to journalists on Tuesday at Lokoja.
He said the victim returned from a traditional council meeting in Abejukolo, the headquarters of Omala Lga, when he was ambushed at Ojuwo Ugweche by an armed striker and brought to bushes

Ovye-waah said: “We have responded quickly to the call of trouble by mobilizing our quick response team, hunters, and alert to comb the bushes to save them from the hands of his kidnappers.
“When we speak, security operators combed the forest to track the kidnappers and bring them home safely and healthy.”
The most important ruler of Omala Lga, Onu Ife, His Majesty Boniface Musa, also confirmed the incident.
He urged security agents to ensure a safe rescue of district heads.
