“Do not engage in a connection”: lasu warns new students against prostitution


The Lagos State University (Lasu) warned its students, in particular females, against the commitment in prostitution popularly known as “connection”.

The Lasu Capo Security Coordinator, the CSP Oluwole Ojo (RTD), held the warning in a lesson at the institution’s orientation ceremony for students of the 2024 sandwich program.

The event was held at the University’s main campus in the Ojo area of ​​Lagos on Friday 28 February 2025.

The main safety coordinator said that the results of this lifestyle were always undesirable.

He urged students to face their studies to be able to graduate with good votes.

Ojo said: “You will discover that those who usually end up end if the cure is not taken. I advise you to desist from it.

“We have CCTV cameras everywhere in the school for your safety and safety of staff and all those who come out and come out of the school.”

Ojo also recommended students to report any threats to the appropriate authorities for the necessary actions.

Speaking to the event, the vice-changing lasu, Prof. Ibiyemi Olaununji-Bello, congratulated the students for their admissions.

Olaunji-Bello, who was represented by the vice-changing of Lasu (Administration), Prof. Adenike Boyo, said: “Your choice to enroll in our Degree Program in Sandwich is a clear indication of your belief in our ability to provide a qualitative education for you.

“I want to make sure you made a decision that you will never regret.

“To this end, I recommend you embrace the self -discipline. Take advantage of all the opportunities that the University has provided to be successful. “

The VC also urged students to carefully select their friends, saying: “Bad friends destroy good habits.

“In addition, the deviant behaviors shun who could cut your academic career.”

He declared that the university has no zero tolerance for cultural, the negligence of the exams, corruption and thugs, adding that those found involved in them would have to face disciplinary actions.

“As you embark on this new chapter of your life, I encourage you to set goals, to remain concentrated and never lose sight of your dreams,” added the vice -changing.
