Police in Germany have arrested a 39-year-old doctor on suspicion of the murder of four female patients in the country.
The man, who worked in nursing services, is alleged to have killed patients at their home in June.
Berlin’s police and public prosecutor’s office said Wednesday that the defendant had been charged with four counts of murder.
The doctor, a palliative care specialist, was brought before a judge on Tuesday after being detained.

He was also charged with attempting to cover up the offence by arson, and successfully starting fires in three flats.
“The four victims were between 72 and 94 years old,” police said.
It is currently unclear how they were killed.
