Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has promised to end major international crises and restore American prestige on the world stage.
Speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Thursday, July 18, the former US president said the planet was “on the brink of World War III,” harshly attacking his successor, President Joe Biden.
“We will restore peace, stability and harmony throughout the world,” Trump said, without providing details on how he plans to do so.
“Under our leadership, the United States will once again be respected. No nation will question our power, no enemy will doubt our might, and our borders will be completely secure.”
Trump blamed Joe Biden for conflicts around the world.
“There is an international crisis of which the world has rarely been a part… war is now raging in Europe, in the Middle East, a growing specter of conflict looms over Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines and all of Asia,” he said.
He promised to change everything if he is elected to a second term in the White House.
“I will end every single international crisis created by the current administration, including the horrific war with Russia and Ukraine,” Trump said. But “to achieve that future, we must first save our nation from failed and even incompetent leadership.”
He also said he wants Americans detained abroad to be released, or else…
“The entire world, I tell you this: we want our hostages back and you better get them before I take office or you’re going to pay a very high price,” Trump said, again without providing details.
