The State Service Department (DSS) has submitted six separate accusations in the Federal High Court in Abuja against nine people accused of committing violations related to terrorism, including those related to deadly attacks in Yelwata Village in the Guma Regional Government in the Benue state.
Yelwata’s attack, which occurred in mid -June, claimed several lives and made many other people injured. Two suspects identified as Haruna Adamu and Muhammad Abdullahi, both from the area of the Regional Government Awe in the nasarawa state, have been charged with absent from the accuses of four counts specifically related to the massacre. Violations, according to court documents, are contrary to part 12 of the Terrorism Prevention Law, 2022.
The dss alleges that is and Abdullahi with Critical Intelligence on Planned Terrorist Operations and Killings in Abinsi and Yelwata Between June 13 and 14. They are also accused of Conspiring with other suspects, including Musa Beniyon, Bako Malowa, Ibrahim Tunga, Asara Ahnadu, Legu Musa, Adamu Yale, Boddi Ayuba, and Pyeure Damina, many of them remain free.
In the related case, Templende Ashuwa and Amos Alede, both residents of Guma LGA, faced three accusations of retaliation in connection with the ABILDI and YELWATA incident.
DSS also brought a four -counted charge of Halima Haliru Umar, 32 years from LGA’s Faccari, the state of Katsina, for allegedly hiding information about weapons runners, which was identified as Alhaji Sani, who was believed to be involved in weapons trading, bandits, and kidnappings.
In addition, Silas Iduh Oloche, from Agatu LGA, the state of Benue, faced accusations of six counts of ownership that violated the law of 18 firearms and grenades without licenses, which violated part 27 of the firearm law. Other people who were arrested for having illegal weapons have also been charged by the Federal Government.
The accusation was submitted by the Director of the Federation Public Prosecution, Muhammad Abubakar. The court has not set a date for the start of the trial.
