D’Tigers ready for Cameroon- Abdulrahman

The Nigerian senior male basketball team, D’Tigers, is full of confidence while preparing to block the horns with Cameroon in a crucial meeting of Afrobasket Group of 2025 Afrobasket tomorrow.

Chief coach Muhammed Abdulrahman has assured that the team is in excellent condition and is completely focused on the coming task.

Since its arrival in Angola, the team has intensified the training sessions, sharpening the tactical and physical aspects of their game to ensure that they are ready for battle.

Speaking on the eve of the contest, Abdulrahman emphasized the positive spirit in the camp and the feeling of unity that has galvanized the players.

“Since we touch each other, we are delighted with the environment and unity within our camp that has motivated us, our parties preparation, impressive training session.

“We are taking each game as it has arrived and fortunately for us we are not distractions in the camp. All our attention is in this trophy and we urge Nigeria to continue praying and supporting us. We understand the passion at home for basketball and this has further lit our determination to represent our nation well.

“We are not afraid of any team here at the same time that we respect all participants.”

The coach also stressed that the team does not simply focus on Cameroon, but on the biggest image, a strong race that could take them to the championship. With the impressive Afrobasket pedigree in Nigeria, including previous continental successes, players know the weight of the expectation that rests on their shoulders.

The clash against Cameroon is expected to be one of the most difficult of the group stages, given the historical rivalry between the two nations. However, Abdulrahman insisted that his players are quiet, disciplined and hungry to prove his worth.

The D’Tigers will trust their combination of experienced internationals and increasing young talents, many of which have been making waves in national and foreign leagues.

As the notice approaches, the anticipation among Nigerian fans is growing. For many, this party represents more than a simple battle in the group stage: it is an opportunity to reaffirm the state of Nigeria as one of the basketball powers of Africa.
