D’Tigress in great spirits, will do well in Paris —Coach Wakama

Ahead of the Olympics, Rena Wakama, head coach of Nigeria’s senior women’s national basketball team, D’Tigress, has expressed her confidence in her team.

In a chat with the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Wakama spoke about the rigorous training his team has been undergoing since arriving at their camp in Germany.

In preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics, scheduled for July 26 to August 10, D’Tigress has been camping in Saarbrucken, Germany.

Coach Wakama assured his players that they would not be complacent, and stressed that they were ready to compete fiercely against their opponents.

“Everything has gone well in camp over the last few days, as we have had great training sessions and the girls are in great spirits,” said Wakama.

“The girls are responding well to training and getting better every day. And that’s what matters.

“I am sure the girls will be able to show their talent when we arrive in Paris. I am excited and looking forward to the match.”

Meanwhile, the team will face Germany in Berlin on July 19, Serbia in Belgrade on July 21, and then, Japan in Lille, France on July 24.
