D’Tigress knocked out of Olympics after tough fight against USA

Nigeria’s women’s basketball team D’Tigress has been knocked out of the Olympics after a fantastic performance against world number one team, the USA.

Nigeria’s women ended their campaign on a high as they secured fourth-quarter dominance over the United States, who dominated the first three quarters.

The United States has now advanced to the semifinals of the competition after defeating Nigeria 88-74 despite being outscored 26-12 in the final quarter.

Rena Wakama’s women’s team will leave the competition with their heads held high after becoming the first African team (men and women) to reach the Olympic quarter-finals.

D’Tigress started their campaign on a high note as they stunned Australia in their opening group match.

However they were defeated in their second group game against hosts France before bouncing back and beating Canada in their final group game to advance to the quarter-finals.
