Nigeria’s D’Tigress suffered their second loss in the 2026 FIBA ​​Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament, falling 93-86 to hosts France on Sunday.

The African champions enter the game looking for a third win in four games, while France look to maintain their perfect record after wins over the Philippines, Colombia and Germany.

The hosts controlled most of the first half, winning the opening quarter 29-21 before the two sides split the second quarter 28-28, giving France a 57-45 lead at halftime.

Nigeria improved after the break, outscoring France 21-15 in the third quarter to reduce the deficit.

However, France remained calm in the final quarter, taking a 21-20 lead to seal the win and remain unbeaten.

D’Tigress will face Germany on Tuesday as they look to finish their qualifying campaign on a positive note.
