Seven people were reportedly killed, and many others kidnapped, after terrorists attacked two churches in Ariko community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack, which occurred early Sunday morning, targeted First ECWA Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Augustine, both located in Ariko.
Sources said poor telecommunications coverage in the area may have allowed the attackers to carry out attacks without an immediate response.

“The attackers came in large numbers. They surrounded the location and started shooting sporadically at the congregation. Several people were killed, and many others were taken into the bushes,” he said.
Residents said the attackers operated for a long time without resistance, raising further concerns about the vulnerability of rural communities in the state.
When contacted, Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer DSP Mansir Hassan said he would explain further regarding the tragic incident.
