Sampdoria initially intended to secure Akinsanmiro on a permanent transfer with a buy-back clause for Inter Milan, but the deal fell through.
The loan is now pending a medical and an official announcement is expected soon.
Akinsanmiro signed a four-year contract with Inter Milan during the 2023 winter transfer window from Nigerian club Remo Stars.
Although he was an unused substitute in the Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina during the 2022–23 season, where Inter claimed their ninth Coppa Italia title, Akinsanmiro made his first-team debut on 25 February 2024.
He came on as a substitute for Davide Frattesi in the 76th minute in a 4–0 league win over Lecce.
The loan move to Sampdoria aims to provide Akinsanmiro with more first-team opportunities and regular playing time, furthering his development and gaining valuable experience in Serie B. Sampdorialooking to bolster their midfield options, see Akinsanmiro as a promising addition to their squad.
