A former president of the Democratic Party of people (PDP) in the state of Ebonyi, the associate professor Augustine Nwazunku died.

His death was confirmed in a statement on Thursday by Senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu, candidate for the Governor deputy of the PDP in the general elections of 2023.

The declaration stated: “The family of the good morning Pdp, in particular the state chapter,” on behalf of our leader, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii and the entire PDP of Ebonyi, we inform you that we have lost one of us again: a reliable leader and a member and former president of the custodian of our party in the state of Ebonyi – associate professor Augustine Nwazunku. “

The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear as at the time of the press.

In the meantime, the party has ordered that all the meetings and activities scheduled for Saturday 28 June 2025 were suspended.

Nwazunku, who was an aspiring governoring under the PDP platform during the general elections of 2023, was until his death, consultant and associate professor of environmental health at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, State of Anambra.
