Edo CP applauds DSP’s leadership of Akogun Abimbola in Sports – Celebre Archery, Football and Festival Medalists

The Police Commissioner, Edo State Command, has officially received a delegation of decorated police athletes and sports heroes that have proudly represented the Nigerian command and police force in national and international stages.

Leading the Roll of Honor was the DSP Oluwatoyin Akogun O., who obtained second place in the archery category of 30 m barebow in a prestigious International Western Africa Tournament. The achievement marks a historic milestone for the development of arc of the command, with DSP Oluwatoyin with pride flying the flag of the arc academy of #Akogaa.

In his speech, the CP warmly praised the athletes who stood out in the newly completed National Sports Festival of 2025 in the state of Ogun, which include:

Inspector Egbe ẹkun – Medalista de Oro in Scrabble both at the National Sports Festival and in Police Games

Cabo Faith Adeyemi – Double Gold Medalist at the Policular Games and the National Festival

EDEDJOR RITA Inspector – Gold medalist both in the polycular games and at the National Festival

Inspector OSAZEE JULIUS – Gold medalist at Police and Kada Unity Cup 2025 games

Inspector Oladosu Muniru – Gold medalist both in Kada Unity Cup and in police games

Asp Bryan Monday – Gold medalist and awarded “Man of the Match” in the Kada 2025 Cup 🏆

Kelvin Ebhomienlen pc – Gold medalist and “higher goal scorer” in Kada Unity Cup 🏆

Other decorated athletes recognized by their excellence include Asp Edward Mercy, Inspector Aghard Richard, Inspector Iguma Mathew, Cape Ugome Ugochukwu Gladys, PC OMOH Isaiah, PC IYER LUCKY, PC INEGBENIOSUN GOD’SGIFT, INSPECTOR AGABI JAMES AND BODY Steven Aghaku, among others.

The CP praised its unwavering commitment, discipline and dedication to sport, declaring:

“Not only have they been proud but has raised the image of the Nigerian police force and our beloved country. The force is completely behind you. Train harder, it points higher.”

He also recalled the recent police machine for the triumph of Nigeria FC (Edo Command), who at the beginning of the year successfully defended his title as champions of the Military and Paramilitary Unit Cup, a feat that added another layer of glory to the growing sports legacy of the command.

“Our football team, Nigeria Police Machine FC, proudly preserved his crown in the Unity Cup. His performance underlines the values ​​of discipline, teamwork and solid leadership within our command.”

The CP attributed the sports success of the command to the strategic leadership of the DSP Akogun A. Abimbola, the command sports officer, whom he described as a pillar of sports development in the police force of Nigeria.

“The experience, professionalism and passion for the DSP Akogun A. Abimbola tutoring officers are exceptional. As a certified Olympic sports manager and graduated from the Sports Management Institute of the International Olympic Committee, its leadership continues to produce excellent results for the command.”

He concluded reaffirming his administration’s commitment to support sports development and encouraged other formations throughout the country to emulate the prosperous culture of sports excellence and tutoring.
