[Press Release] The Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) is aware of the senator’s stratagem on Monday Okpebholo to spray n200 million each to induce members of the Chamber of the Edo State Assembly elected on the PDP platform to take off at the Congress All Progressives (APC).We condemn the desperate plans of the Senator Okpebholo in the strongest terms to squander the resources of the people of the Edo State on the political treatment of horses for their survival, while the critical sectors of the state remain in serious need for government intervention.
Only in recent weeks, at least 34 citizens Edo Innocenti have been brutally murdered in various state communities following the growing insecurity.
While the ownership of the value of millions of Naira was destroyed on the back of the current security crisis.
Small and large farmers are displaced daily, multiple communities are fired by rapions and furtive shepherds, while others, including the city center, are invaded by non -state actors, leaving residents in fear and interrupted economic activities.
The state is currently[sic] Taken with serious decay of infrastructure due to abandonment. The health sector is in ruins, with hospitals and clinics without essential medical supplies, including the Edo specialized hospital, where even the most elementary consumers are not available. Younger people now look at criminals as role models because the government has not offered significant opportunities for their commitment.
Unfortunately, in the midst of all these challenges, the only concern of Okpebholo is his political survival, while schemes, together with his numerous political godparents, to squandered billions of Naira who should be used to improve the life of the Edo people, in inducing the members of the Assembly with defects at the APC.
This is the executive scraper to its peak, and we dare to say that this brazen act of corruption and malfunction of the priorities is shameful and unacceptable.
However, we are not surprised by Okpebholo’s unatiable appetite for power at the expense of the development and safety of the state, having entered charges unprepared through the backdoor through an election that is widely considered the most imperfect and manipulated in the history of Nigeria and whose result is deeply contested in court.
As we invoke all the well -intentioned Edo people, the groups of civil society and anti -corruption agencies to climb against this abuse of power and the reckless objections of state resources, we want to reformulate it as a party, we are not undaunted by the evil machinations of the Senator Okpebholo and the APC while we remain the popular party in the state.
