EFCC arrested 25 Buk students for alleged internet fraud

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arrested 25 Bayero University Kano (BUK) students due to alleged internet fraud.

The head of the EFCC media and publicity, Dele Oyewale, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said the suspects were arrested on Monday, opposite the new Buk, Kano site.

According to him, their arrest follows intelligence that can be followed up on their alleged involvement in cyberspace activities.

The spokesperson said: “All the suspects arrested were confirmed as BUKA BUKA students.

“Rebueded items during operations include, mobile phones, laptops, internet routers and one Honda Accord.”

“The arrest followed the surveillance weeks related to their alleged involvement in internet fraud, identity theft, and financial fraud.

“The suspects will be charged with court in the conclusion of the investigation.”
