EFCC arrests former Kaduna government contractor to alleged N30BN fraud

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has captured the Act Legacy Limited Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Bello Ibrahim, for alleged N30 billion fraud.

Ibrahim, who is a former contractor of the Kaduna state government, was accused of deceiving many people through a fictitious contract award.

In a statement posted on his X grip on Friday, the Commission said the suspect was arrested by the operators of the Directorate of Zonal Kaduna after receiving 251 petitions from people who accused the imitation and large-scale fraud.

The statement was read; “Although the previous contract with the Kaduna state government ended in October 2023, Ibrahim was suspected of continuing to memarade himself as a consultant for all 23 regional government regions in the state and for the United Charity Foundation, wrongly claiming affiliation with the office of sustainable development destinations.

“He mistakenly claimed to have a memorandum of understanding (MoU) 2020 with the Kaduna state government for intervention grants from global donor agencies to fund LGA projects.

“However, the investigation revealed that the MoU was revoked by the state government because it did not perform and violated the provisions. However, Ibrahim was suspected of continuing to provide fake contracts, convincing victims of contractors-to supply construction materials, hospital equipment, medicines, and other health-related products, which according to him was for the LG project.
