EFCC captured 23 alleged internet fraudsters in Abia

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arrested 23 alleged internet fraudsters at the Training Academy in Abia.

The head of the EFCC media and publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

He said the center, known as “Yahoo-Yahoo Hustle Kingdom,” is located inside the Doofco Palace building, behind Government College in Umuahia.

Those who were arrested were eight suspects who underwent training at the center.

The statement reads: “Operations of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, Uyo Zonal Directoration, on Friday, July 18, 2025, found a cyberspace training center known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Hustle Kingdom’ in Umuahia in Abia State, and eight training suspects experienced training and 15 others.”. “

“Those who were arrested at the training center were – Toona Henry, Tavershima Solomon, Chi Orseer James, Ubee Benjamin, Gabriel Ibei, Godwin, Muhammad Micheal, and Destiny Andrew.

“Others Nabbed in Separate Operations at Umudike, Ahiake, and Umugu in Umuahia are – Okezie Almond, Precious Osmond, Kenneth Prospect, Iweobi Chika Augustine, Nedolisa Victor, Kanu Austin, Anolu David, Collins Michael Chinonso, Prince Chigozie, Festus Nwogu, Michael Lazarus, and Kingsley Ndubuisi.

“The items recovered in operations include two cars, 15 laptops and 34 cellphones.”
