The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has submitted a new criminal claim against the former Governor of the Central Bank Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, at the Federal Capital High Court (FCT).
In the accusation of eight new counts, the Commission accused that Emefiele stealed and illegally obtained 753 housing units in plot 109, the Kadastral C09 zone, Lokongoma District, Abuja.
Court documents are seen by journalists on Saturday.
The accusation followed the steps of the former Governor of CBN to reclaim the property.
Emefiele has approached the appeal court to put aside the decision giving the federal government control over the land.

EFCC also accused the former Top banker of holding billions of Naira’s ownership in a proxy account while in the office.
According to the Anti-Claims Agency,
Emefiele conspired his personal assistant, Eric Ocheme, who was reported in the escape, to obtain property in August 2021.
The Commission is equally accusing that between January and December 2019, Emefiele has β¦ 167 million which is allegedly the result of fraud in a proxy account with Zenith Bank in Abuja. .
