The Federal Government has declared Monday June 17 and Tuesday June 18, 2024 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja, said the Minister of Interior, Dr. OlubunmWe tunji-Ojo, made the statement on behalf of the Federal Government.

She said the minister congratulated the Muslim Ummah both nationally and in the diaspora on the occasion.

Tunji-Ojo called on the Ummah to continue to imbibe the spirit of peace, kindness and sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and also use this period to pray for the unity, prosperity and stability of our country.

“The minister assured that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR is committed to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians.

“While wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyful Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Minister advised all Nigerians to shoulder their responsibilities in their determination to hand over a prosperous Nigeria to our children,” the statement added.
