Eid-El-Kabir: FG declares on Friday, public holidays

The Federal Government declared on Friday 6 June and Monday 9 June 2025, as a public holiday to celebrate the celebration of Eid-El-Kabir this year.

The Minister of the Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced it in a declaration issued on behalf of the Federal Government on Monday 2 June.

Tunji-Ojo congratulated all Muslims in Nigeria and in the diaspora on the occasion.

He urged them to continue to embody the spirit of sacrifice, obedience and faith, as demonstrated by the prophet Ibrahim (peace is on him).

Tunji-Ojo also urged the Nigerians to use the EID period to pray for the peace, unity and prosperity of the country.

The Minister assured the Nigerians that “the reforms and initiatives oriented to the people carried out, in support of the renewed agenda of the hope of the administration of President Bola Tinubu, is to restore Nigeria on the way of progress”.

He also urged all the Nigerians to join the administration of Tinubu in his efforts to restore the glory of Nigeria as a great nation.
