The Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti had sentenced a life imprisonment to Jaiyeoba Oluwafemi who was 56 years old, after finding him guilty of raping his 14 -year -old stepdaughter.
The verdict was conveyed on Monday, concluding a trial that revealed a terrible harassment account.
Oluwafemi faced the accusation of one rape count, which stated, “That the defendant on October 26, 2020 in Ado Ekiti did rape a 14 -year -old girl, contrary to section 31 (2) Right Law of the child, Cap. C7 State Law of Ekiti, 2012.”
In his bold testimony before the court, the victim, who was the six main students at the time of the initial incident, told the harassment. He explained, “My mother married the defendant, we did not live together, but she used to sleep in our house, especially when my mother was not at home or traveling.”
Detailing the example of the first harassment, he testified, “On October 26, 2020, my mother traveled to Lagos and the defendant slept in our house. At midnight, she woke up and forced sex with me. After that, blood radiated out of my personal part. “” “

The victim further revealed the persistent nature of the harassment and threat he experienced. “He continued the action whenever my mother did not exist. I used to tell my mother at the time of her arrival, but she did nothing. When she noticed that I told my mother about her sustainable sexual activity with me, she began to threaten me.”
This case was finally revealed when the victim, acted on the advice of a woman, reported the problem to the Governor’s office, which led to the arrest of Oluwafemi.
During the trial, prosecutor Julius Ajebrara filed a strong case, summoned six witnesses and tested the defendant’s statement and medical report as the main exhibition. The defendant, who had guaranteed for two years, made his defense through his lawyer, Oladele Adedeji, and called one witness.
Giving a decision, Judge Adekunle Adeleye carefully analyzes the evidence presented. Justice Adeleye stated, “I am a simple view that the sexual relations session is on several occasions, it is not business once.” He further concluded, “And after a careful analysis of all the conditions of this case, changes in the story or direct rejection by the defendant are reflections.”
