EKO INTERNATIONAL CUP: REMAR STARS confirms the preparation, plan large for the preseason tournament

The current champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League, Remo Stars of Ikenne, have confirmed the preparation to appear in the next International Football Tournament of the Eko Cup (EIC).

The EIC, an preseason tournament is announced in the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos between July 6 and 13.

In collaboration with the Government of the State of Lagos, Ski-Hi Entertainment is organizing the competition that is expected to present a total of eight teams.

They are; Remo Stars, Ikorodu United, Shooting Stars and Enyimba of Aba. The four expected teams from other parts of the continent are FC Kallon from Sierra Leone, Accra Hearts of Oak, Ghana, Supersports United FC of South Africa and FC Dadje of the Republic of Benin.

Recently, the organizers of the long -awaited tournament obtained the confirmation of the senior management of the remote stars on the preparation of the team to participate in the competition.

It was also revealed that Remo Stars Management is already working to strengthen the team in preparation for the continental assignment of the League champions.

The executive director, advertising and strategy for the Local Organizing Committee of the EIC, Onome Obruthe, says that for all teams, EIC is a preparatory event for the new season.

“For rowing, the stars as a team that is expected to campaign in the CAF Champions League, is a good opportunity not only to play against other Nigerian teams but also against the teams that come from other parts of Africa.

“Other teams are expected to use the tournament to evaluate their rooms and make settings before the National and Continental Games begin.

“For our part, we are working hard with the state government of Lagos so that this tournament has a good impact on the teams and all the participants as a whole, including spectators,” Obruthe said.
