The pair were announced by their respective clubs on Friday, with social media posts confirming the moves.

Ekong and Nwagua join a growing number of Nigerian players who have moved to the Middle East in recent years.

One of Nigeria’s greatest achievements in the Arabian Peninsula remains Odion Ighalo, who left Manchester United in 2021 to join Al Shabab.

Since then, Ighalo has won the Saudi League, the King’s Cup and was the top scorer in his first season in the division.
